Senior Import/Export Compliance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct a thorough review of customs entries, filings, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Apply regulatory requirements to transactions, collaborating with the Supervisor and leadership team on complex or high-risk situations.

• Maintain necessary documentation and records in compliance with standards.

• Address discrepancies, data issues, and gaps in documentation.

• Collaborate with brokers and team members to rectify transactional errors.

• Report systemic issues, recurring errors, or urgent risks to the Supervisor.

• Prepare and compile PSC and protest filings.

• Monitor assigned filings against deadlines and identify risks to ensure timely submissions.

• Aid in the identification and documentation of eligible IEEPA responsibility recovery opportunities.

• Ensure that supporting data and documentation are complete and ready for audit.

• Complete compliance tasks transitioning into NATM according to established procedures.

• Stabilize processes by adhering to documented workflows and identifying inconsistencies.

• Assist with responsibility drawback activities, including data collection, validation, and documentation.

• Contribute to CTPAT-related tasks, including maintaining documentation and providing compliance support.

• Act as a knowledge resource for regulatory requirements.

• Identify opportunities for AI and automation to enhance transactional efficiency, data validation, and compliance accuracy.

• Support compliance modernization initiatives through practical use cases.

• Collaborate with partners to facilitate compliance projects and resolve issues.

• Adjust priorities in response to urgent compliance requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

• Employer will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, either now or in the future.

• Over 6 years of experience in import/export compliance or customs operations.

• Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations and export compliance requirements.

• Ability to interpret intricate regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable execution.

• Experience in executing transactional compliance activities, including entry review, filings, and documentation validation.

• Background in supporting PSCs, protests, responsibility drawback, or related activities.

• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker preferred, or in progress toward certification.

• Experience in supporting responsibility recovery efforts, including PSCs/protests and IEEPA.

• Knowledge of responsibility drawback processes.

• Exposure to CTPAT or similar trade compliance/security programs.

• Experience working with or transitioning work from shared services or COE models.

• Proficiency with data tools, reporting, or audit analytics.
