Senior Implementation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the complete implementation of Katana for high-value and intricate accounts — multi-channel, multi-location merchants with substantial operational complexity: discovery, solution design, integrations, data migration, configuration, and go-live.

• Design the target system architecture tailored for each account, translating real-world manufacturing, inventory, and fulfillment workflows into an effective Katana configuration.

• Lead the data migration and setup process — including bills of materials, product and material catalogs, stock, suppliers, and historical data — while ensuring data integrity is maintained at go-live.

• Develop and configure integrations between Katana and the customer's broader system ecosystem: Shopify, WooCommerce, accounting, shipping, and EDI, utilizing native connectors, APIs, and middleware.

• Create custom solutions, scripts, and workarounds through APIs, automation tools, and middleware that extend Katana to meet advanced requirements — tailored to each account's needs, and increasingly a significant aspect of the role over time.

• Leverage AI as a fundamental delivery tool — designing accelerators, tools, and solutions that enhance the speed and quality of each go-live.

• Construct reusable integration solutions, migration tools, and playbooks that improve delivery speed and quality across the entire Solution Engineering team.

• Participate in pre-sales discussions as part of a full-cycle process — validating technical fit and integration viability prior to commitment.

• Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering and Product teams to scope and escalate tasks beyond configuration, ensuring clear diagnostics and prioritization.

• Work alongside Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure complex accounts are launched seamlessly and positioned for growth — while mentoring Solutions Engineers on hands-on implementation and API techniques.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience leading comprehensive software implementations from start to finish for high-value or complex accounts — within B2B SaaS, ERP, MRP, or inventory and manufacturing software.

• Direct, hands-on experience with inventory and manufacturing operations — a true understanding of how production, stock, and fulfillment operate across channels and locations, rather than just in theory.

• Practical API and integration experience: developing or configuring integrations across e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce), accounting, shipping, and EDI.

• Comfortable working directly within systems — configuring, mapping and migrating data, troubleshooting integrations, and creating workarounds.

• Strong skills in technical discovery and solution design. You can convert a real-world operation into a functional system.

• Exceptional communication skills. You can lead a technical discussion with a customer and clearly articulate complex setups.

• Proficient with AI, and eager to innovate with it. You actively engage with tools like Claude to tackle complex problems and accelerate progress, and you're excited to expand the capabilities of AI. We utilize AI daily here, and we support you in enhancing that skill quickly.

• **Bonus points:** experience with scripting (JavaScript, Python, SQL); familiarity with iPaaS or middleware (Make, Zapier); knowledge of MRP, ERP, or inventory platforms; and particularly — if you've already built something using Claude or Claude Code, even a personal project, as it demonstrates the curiosity and builder mindset we value.
