This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Spearhead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) that aligns with ISO 45001 and other applicable standards.
• Establish a proactive safety strategy that is integrated into business operations at the project site level.
• Work in partnership with Operations leaders to synchronize safety objectives with organizational goals and project site necessities.
• Foster accountability through quantifiable leading and lagging safety performance indicators.
• Supervise site safety leadership, ensuring the consistent application of programs and the ongoing development of capabilities.
• Oversee project site adherence to OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, and other regulatory requirements.
• Execute audit programs, conduct gap assessments, and carry out safety reviews of subcontractors.
• Supervise HSE personnel at the site to ensure that all daily requirements are met effectively.
• Facilitate the development and mentoring of SHE personnel across all site levels.
• Inspect project work environments, evaluate practices, and procedures to determine risk and compliance with guidelines, and provide inspection reports to the project team and supervisors.
• Generate documentation and compile the monthly safety tracking data report for management review.
• Produce additional safety reports as necessary.
• Lead investigations into incidents and recommend corrective actions to upper management regarding safety and health matters that may impact the project and the organization.
• A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), including at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline.
• OSHA 500 or an equivalent authorized trainer certification is required.
• CHST, OHST, or CIH certification is required.
• First Aid/CPR certification is mandatory.
• Proven track record of managing high-risk, complex safety programs across construction, manufacturing, and mission-critical operations.
• Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change, strategic planning, and safety innovation initiatives.
• Experience liaising with regulatory agencies, supporting legal cases, and conducting insurance safety evaluations.
• Experience in implementing human performance frameworks and strategies for the prevention of serious injuries and fatalities (SIF).
