Senior Hospital Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Analyzes and codes intricate hospital services and inpatient procedures.

• Applies coding standards to allocate ICD and CPT codes.

• Ensures adherence to Medicare, Medicaid, and regulations set by third-party payers.

• Works in conjunction with the Clinical Documentation Improvement team.

• Guarantees precise DRG assignment and collaborates with management to address issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalent.

• Completion of an AHIMA accredited coding program, with certification being preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of coding experience.

• Certification as a CCS, CIC, RHIA, or RHIT is mandatory.

• Familiarity with ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, and coding principles.

• Competent computer skills, with proficiency in Windows-based applications and various software pertinent to the role.
