HCC Coding Specialist – Temporary, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess medical records to extract ICD-10 codes, particularly those corresponding to HCCs, RxHCCs, and ESRD models.

• Adhere to Medicare guidelines, ICD-10-CM standards, and specific client requirements.

• Maintain a quality score of 95% or above.

• Uphold ongoing productivity levels according to project specifications.

• Ensure compliance with all privacy and security regulations and commit to safeguarding all Company confidential information, including but not limited to, Personal Health Information.

• Additional duties may be assigned by a Leadership Team Member.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months of recent retrospective HCC coding experience along with 1 year of additional coding experience is required.

• A valid coding credential from AAPC or AHIMA is mandatory. Acceptable credentials include CPC, CRC, COC, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P. Apprenticeship designations are not acceptable.

• Proficient knowledge and experience with systems such as EMRs, billing systems, and abstraction platforms.

• Must possess a phone and a reliable internet connection.

• Proficiency in Microsoft programs, including Excel and Outlook, is essential. For Excel, you should be able to open and edit a spreadsheet and perform basic calculations like addition or multiplication. For Outlook, you should be capable of managing emails and scheduling and attending meetings.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines is required.
