Coding Integrity Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Coding Integrity Manager and the Director of Coding Operations to maintain effective communication regarding potential coding quality issues.

• Oversee, coordinate, and execute coding quality assessments.

• Perform intricate coding reviews associated with reimbursement, public reporting, and pay-for-performance initiatives.

• Work alongside the CDI team to address documentation discrepancies and ensure compliance with KPIs, SLAs, RIS, and DNFB requirements.

• Confirm that DRG or reimbursement accurately reflects the services and utilization provided by the hospital.

• Conduct second-level focused pre-bill and post-bill account evaluations.

• Assess coding accuracy and specificity to help mitigate potential revenue losses for the hospital.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM) related fields or a CCS credential is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in inpatient coding.

• Excellent analytical skills.

• Capability to understand and analyze substantial amounts of operational data.

• Proficiency in reviewing complex medical records.

• Strong multitasking abilities and skills in prioritizing work assignments.
