
Senior Hardware Prototyping Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Assemble, solder, rework, and integrate electronic prototypes, printed circuit assemblies (PCAs), and cabling.
• Conduct hardware bring-up, functional testing, and troubleshooting for both prototype and production units.
• Construct and maintain test fixtures, jigs, and benches for validation and production purposes.
• Operate lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and soldering/rework stations.
• Assist in field-test preparation, kitting, and logistics for hardware deployments.
• Ensure accurate build records, as-built documentation, and component inventory are maintained.
• Provide mentorship to junior technicians and uphold ESD, safety, and quality protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance manufacturability and assembly processes.
• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance – U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, or equivalent experience is necessary.
• A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, rework, and testing is required.
• Advanced skills in soldering and rework, including fine-pitch and surface-mount work (IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 certification is a plus).
• Proficient in using lab and test equipment and capable of reading schematics, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
• Experience in building and bringing up prototype hardware in a fast-paced environment is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documentation are critical.
• Flexibility to work long hours as necessary.
