This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Leading the integration of DPU hardware and software into Akamai's compute and GPU server platforms, encompassing PCIe, networking, storage, and manageability interfaces.
• Strategizing and executing validation for DPU platforms, which includes conducting functional, performance, interoperability, stress, and reliability testing for data-center scale applications.
• Implementing and validating networking and offload features such as RDMA/RoCE, L2/L3/L4 Ethernet/IP forwarding, SR-IOV/virtio-net/vDPA, overlay networks, and behaviors related to congestion control.
• Creating automation, scripts, and test tools to operate DPUs, gather telemetry at scale, and convert results into actionable requirements.
• Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to transform workload and service-level objective (SLO) requirements into configurations and test plans.
• Partnering with vendors to assess new DPU generations, firmware and feature updates, and to evaluate trade-offs among performance, efficiency, supply continuity, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency with data center SmartNICs or DPUs, including integration into x86/ARM servers, and knowledge of PCIe, SR-IOV, and virtualization concepts.
• Familiarity with DPU frameworks and programming languages such as NVIDIA DOCA/DPL, P4, DPDK, etc.
• A solid understanding of networking fundamentals, as well as familiarity with technologies related to congestion control and load balancing in data centers.
• Experience in platform validation, PCIe/NVMe and networking qualification, and system-level stress testing.
• Strong Linux skills and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash for automation and data analysis.
• Ability to work across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries, collaborating with teams to diagnose issues in the data path, control plane, and management stack.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
