Senior GL Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Ensure a timely and precise monthly close by preparing and posting journal entries, conducting flux analyses, reconciling key general ledger accounts (such as prepaid expenses, accruals, leases, investments, and cash), and investigating as well as resolving discrepancies.

• Take ownership of cost of sales (COS) accounting, which includes reconciling COS accounts, analyzing margin drivers, and guaranteeing accurate cost recognition.

• Evaluate vendor contracts and accounts across a wide spectrum of transactions and agreements (from co-marketing arrangements to leases and beyond), ensuring appropriate treatment in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

• Manage accounts payable operations, which involves reviewing and reconciling invoices along with cash management.

• Identify and implement process enhancements throughout accounting workflows—utilizing AI and automation to optimize the closing process, strengthen controls, and promote consistency as a lean team grows.

• Act as the accounting representative in cross-functional discussions, collaborating with Legal, Sales, or Engineering to ensure that accounting considerations are emphasized early and incorporated into decision-making.

• Support the preparation of documentation and schedules for external audits and financial reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.

• Over 4 years of accounting experience with a robust understanding of technical fundamentals.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and a comprehensive grasp of the complete closing cycle.

• High level of proficiency in Excel; experience with Netsuite is advantageous.

• Familiarity with AI and automation tools to facilitate scalable accounting operations and processes.

• Highly organized, reliable, and capable of managing competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
