This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Propel Cotality’s premier enterprise geocoding product that underpins property and location intelligence solutions.
• Create resilient systems to navigate complex US addressing scenarios.
• Establish methods to enhance geolocation accuracy from broad areas down to parcel, rooftop, front-door, loading-dock, and drop-off-point specifics.
• Formulate spatial validation loops utilizing contributor data and terrestrial datasets.
• Assess and compare third-party geocoding services with internal solutions.
• Advance automated confidence-scoring frameworks for addressing and geocoding data quality.
• Implement improvements to enhance geocoding precision, clarity, and timeliness.
• Engage in practical experiments with open-source, cloud-native geospatial tools.
• Work collaboratively with engineering to transition features from concept to production.
• Assess data vendors alongside the in-house data acquisition team.
• Promote internal and external awareness regarding address hygiene.
• Expertise in USPS CASS/NCOA processes, TIGER data, and the intricacies of the US postal system.
• Experience with commercial and publicly accessible road network datasets.
• Understanding of US land parcel data and its correlation with addresses.
• Familiarity with Census data.
• Over 5 years of pertinent experience.
• Capability to prototype and showcase ideas through hands-on coding in a Jupyter notebook-oriented setup.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with geospatial, address, and routing-centric Python libraries.
• Familiarity with GeoPandas, Shapely, Proj, Kepler/Pydeck, Libpostal, and Valhalla.
• Understanding of spatial data formats such as shapefiles, GeoJSON, GeoParquet, and FGB.
• Knowledge of PostGIS spatial SQL.
• Proficiency with GDAL command-line tools.
• Experience using QGIS.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON structures, and Postman.
• Fundamentals of statistics.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience (preferred).
• Some familiarity with Apache Spark or another Big Data stack (preferred).
• Experience with cloud-based spatial analytics platforms like Carto (preferred).
• Knowledge of geospatial pattern matching/recognition algorithms (preferred).
