This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Take ownership of the architecture for Python-based data pipelines, establishing standards for the automation, cleaning, transformation, and analysis of geospatial datasets across various projects.
• Create ArcGIS Online Hosted Notebooks, ArcGIS Pro Python Toolboxes, and ArcGIS Geoprocessing services to facilitate geospatial applications and workflows.
• Lead the decision-making process for database architecture concerning enterprise relational and spatial systems, ensuring a balance between performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Produce production-quality code adhering to professional development standards, which includes version control using Git and GitHub for collaboration, conducting collaborative code reviews, and managing releases.
• Conduct quality assurance and debugging of geospatial data, scripts, and services to guarantee the accuracy, performance, and reliability of the solutions delivered.
• Provide live demonstrations and presentations to clients, highlighting workflows, solutions, and outcomes.
• Work closely with clients to establish project requirements, convert business needs into technical specifications, and maintain communication regarding progress throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the technical lead on selected engagements, directing the architecture and implementation strategies.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote knowledge-sharing within the team.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in GIS.
• Advanced knowledge of the Esri stack, including ArcGIS Pro (with extensions), ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise (Server, Portal, Image Server).
• Proven experience in Python 3.x development, creating complex, production-ready geospatial tools, with proficiency in ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python, NumPy, and Pandas at a minimum.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, proactively identify risks, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a client-facing context.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; adept at thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
• Must have legal eligibility to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
