This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams, serving as the technical lead for essential gameplay features.
• Design systems that enable fellow engineers and content creators to rapidly iterate on high-quality gameplay experiences.
• Create code paths that seamlessly integrate with all of Unreal Engine's network models.
• Contribute to shared internal technologies utilized by multiple projects across the organization.
• Write clear, high-quality, and efficient C++ code.
• Maintain, debug, profile, and fix code to ensure optimal quality and performance.
• Document coding processes and work, develop debugging tools for other developers, and create tests to validate existing functionalities.
• In-depth expertise in C++ programming.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Unreal Engine, with the capability to mentor others in its use.
• Significant networking experience and a solid understanding of multiplayer gameplay architecture.
• Familiarity with game engine architecture and algorithms.
• Insight into testing strategies for multiplayer development.
• Clear and effective communication skills: Our work environment is multilingual and multicultural; thus, the ability to communicate across language and time zone barriers is crucial (Please note that these skills are not mandatory for applying for the position).
• Preferred: Experience in shipping at least one Unreal-based game, especially with networked or multiplayer features.
• Experience developing for current generation consoles.
• Experience in profiling and optimizing bandwidth.
