Senior Functional Safety Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Oversee activities in alignment with ISO 26262, organizing System Safety Activities in relation to Project Time schedules.

• Engage in Safety Analyses for system, subsystem, hardware, and software architectures, which include HARA, DFMEA, FTA, DFA, and ETA.

• Define and document safety concepts and requirements for safety architecture, addressing both hardware and software components.

• Convey system safety aspects to engineering design teams and communicate the necessary actions to achieve specified safety integrity levels.

• Evaluate System and Discipline Test Plans and Specifications to confirm adherence to the safety plan concerning the verification of established Safety concepts.

• Collaborate with Customers on the technical safety aspects of the system and assist in proposal quotations.

• Work in conjunction with Quality Assurance (IATF 16949).

• Cooperate with supporting processes.

• Draw conclusions regarding the functional safety of products based on the Safety Case.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science and Engineering.

• Prior experience in implementing functional safety within an automotive context, applying safety measures per ISO 26262 standards.

• Solid understanding of embedded software engineering and hardware engineering domains.

• Experience with Embedded Electronic Control systems (e.g., Brake, Airbag, Steering).

• Proficiency in safety requirements analysis at the system, hardware, and software levels.

• Familiarity with Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), FTA, and DFMEA.

• Previous experience with Dependent Failure, Common Cause Analysis, Freedom From Interference Analysis, and Maintenance Safety Analysis.

• Strong perspective on the implementation of Quality Management in processes.
