This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the hardware design team to enhance design manufacturability.

• Conduct manufacturability assessments and spearhead Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) initiatives to minimize design costs.

• Utilize CAD tools like DFM-Pro to evaluate and refine designs.

• Monitor DFMA initiatives by discipline, ensuring thoroughness and relevance.

• Oversee product cost reduction efforts aimed at achieving specific product cost targets.

• Execute and review one-dimensional tolerance analyses.

• Evaluate supplier capabilities and readiness, providing assistance for contractual commitments.

• Engage with program design teams, relay analysis outcomes, and negotiate design adjustments.

• Work in partnership with Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Processes, Design and Drafting, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers.

• Occasionally travel for supplier engagements and collaboration with departmental and directorate colleagues.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of relevant prior experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience.

• Proficient knowledge of one or more manufacturing processes, such as machining, casting, welding, forging, injection molding, etc.

• Experience in conducting Design for Manufacturing and/or Assembly workshops.

• Capability to obtain and sustain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required from day one.

• Preferred: Certified Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) Lead.

• Preferred: Raytheon CORE apprentice certification or an equivalent external process improvement certification, such as Six Sigma, Lean, TPS, or DFSS.

• Preferred: ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional Certification.

• Experience in performing two- or three-dimensional tolerance analyses.

• Familiarity with or a basic understanding of various standard manufacturing processes, including multi-axis machining, sheet metal fabrication, casting, 3-D printing, welding, precision mechanical assembly, and mechanical inspection.
