Senior Fullstack Mobile Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Georgia.

📋 Description

• Develop features, address bugs, and manage production incidents for both iOS and Android platforms, as well as the backend and web frontend that support the product — delivering thoroughly tested, production-ready results that align with the team's quality standards.

• Manage mobile projects from start to finish — gather requirements, design the approach, break them down into tasks, implement solutions, and deliver to production for both iOS and Android, including necessary backend and web frontend modifications.

• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for intricate mobile issues — identify root causes across the application, native layers, networking, and platform behavior, and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.

• Review code and designs for accuracy — assessing component and navigation structure, rendering, native integration, and adherence to mobile standards — identifying issues prior to release.

• Contribute to and advance mobile engineering standards within the team — focusing on component architecture, native integration, testing, and release policies.

• Oversee the operational health of deployed work — monitor releases and staged rollouts, evaluate release performance, and address post-release issues on both platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years working with React Native.

• Expertise in React Native and TypeScript — the primary focus of the role.

• Solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals — including asynchronous programming, event loop behavior, and error handling.

• Familiarity with relational and document databases — encompassing data modeling, querying, and indexing.

• Knowledge of RESTful API design and HTTP principles — capable of working across Node.js backend services, API contracts, database queries, and web frontend code.

• Acquainted with the native iOS and Android platforms and their development tools (Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle).

• Comprehension of mobile OS fundamentals — including app lifecycle, background execution, permissions, and memory management.

• Experience with automated testing methodologies (unit, integration, E2E).

• Understanding of mobile security — ensuring secure storage and handling of sensitive and payment information.

• Proficient in day-to-day use of AI-assisted development tools — for research, troubleshooting, and implementation.

• Ability to independently diagnose common React Native production challenges — including rendering, navigation, networking, and app lifecycle issues.

• Proven history of managing mobile initiatives from inception to completion — from requirements gathering to store release, including necessary backend and web frontend alterations.

• Experience in designing mobile application architecture — considering trade-offs in performance, reliability, and observability across iOS and Android platforms.

• Background in designing or integrating native modules and SDKs where React Native abstractions fall short — including targeted Swift/Kotlin modifications and debugging across JavaScript and native layers.

• Experience overseeing the release process — including app signing, store submission, and staged rollouts.

• Experience establishing mobile engineering practices from the ground up — including standards, CI/CD, and release processes across both inherited and greenfield codebases.

• Experience in designing resilient asynchronous and event-driven backend interactions (messaging, queues).

• Familiarity with mobile production operations — including monitoring, crash reporting, incident response, and rollback policies.

• Proven ability to mentor and guide less experienced engineers.

• Proficiency in English adequate for daily written and verbal communication.
