Senior FullStack Engineer – Grafana Cloud Observability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• You will leverage your software engineering skills to create the tools that drive our suite of cloud integrations and observability applications; focusing on the development, maintenance, and scaling of our infrastructure observability functionalities within Grafana Cloud.

• Deliver features comprehensively, covering everything from the user interface that users interact with to the backend services that support it, along with the dashboards and alerts associated with each integration.

• Adapt to various components of the technology stack as project requirements evolve. Some weeks may involve working on a React panel, while others may require developing a Go service or a Jsonnet mixin.

• Take ownership of projects from their inception to production, including engaging with users to verify the effectiveness of what you have delivered.

• Advocate for the team's work beyond the immediate group: draft design proposals, conduct demonstrations, and present our roadmap during cross-team discussions.

• Contribute to upstream projects like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana Alloy where relevant.

• Participate in the on-call rotation for the services you manage.

⛳️ Requirements

• A keen interest in working across the full technology stack with a product-oriented approach. You begin with the user issue and feel confident in determining what to build in addition to how to construct it.

• Experience with both backend and frontend development. We utilize Go and TypeScript; strong experience with similar programming languages will be beneficial.

• Proficiency in AI-assisted development. You incorporate coding agents and LLM tools into your workflow and have a clear understanding of their advantages and limitations.

• Comfort with visibility. You proactively raise concerns, advocate for your team's efforts throughout the organization, and transform quiet, effective work into visible decisions that others can act upon.

• Familiarity with the observability ecosystem: including Prometheus, Grafana dashboards, alerting mechanisms, and the requirements for running these systems in a production environment.

• Excellent written communication skills. Most of our decisions are documented in various formats such as documents, issues, and pull requests across multiple time zones.
