Senior Fullstack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Technical Director.

• Design and develop high-performance, scalable user interfaces.

• Take ownership of the APIs and data layers that power full-stack applications.

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of intricate applications utilizing React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js-based APIs and services.

• Design and create RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, including data modeling, authentication, and SQL/NoSQL database integration.

• Collaborate with clients, product managers, UI/UX designers, and back-end engineers to transform business requirements and design mockups into comprehensive full-stack solutions.

• Provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers on front-end and back-end best practices.

• Champion the adoption of modern development techniques, tools, and frameworks.

• Ensure the application's performance, scalability, security, and maintainability across the UI, API, and data layers.

• Utilize Next.js server-side capabilities, including SSR, RSC, and API routes.

• Engage in cross-stack code reviews.

• Troubleshoot and debug issues affecting client, API, and data layers.

• Communicate technical concepts and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients.

• Assess and recommend emerging front-end and back-end technologies and methodologies.

• Contribute to project planning, estimation, and technical documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of professional experience as a Front-End or Full-Stack Engineer, with a strong emphasis on React, Next.js, and TypeScript.

• At least 2 years of hands-on back-end experience in building and maintaining Node.js APIs and working with relational or NoSQL databases.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Digital Agency environment, involving direct client interaction and management.

• Proficiency in building responsive, accessible, and high-performing web applications with well-structured APIs and data models.

• Thorough understanding of modern JavaScript on both client and server sides.

• Extensive experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or Context API.

• Familiarity with SSR, React Server Components (RSC), and static site generation (SSG).

• Strong grasp of front-end build tools and package managers like Webpack, Vite, npm, or Yarn.

• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Supertest.

• Knowledge of Git workflows.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

• A robust portfolio showcasing complex, full-stack projects is a significant advantage.

• Bonus: experience with GraphQL API design and schema architecture.

• Bonus: experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and management of backend services.

• Bonus: familiarity with Docker or serverless deployment patterns.
