This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop referral systems, social sharing mechanisms, engagement loops, and real-time features that promote Acorns’ organic growth.
• Take ownership of features from data modeling to the final customer experience across both mobile and web platforms.
• Implement features for iOS, Android, Web, and backend services.
• Define analytics events, enhance visibility, and leverage data for rapid iteration.
• Manage technical architecture and uphold engineering quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO, Senior Product Manager, and Senior Product Designer.
• Construct social graphs, engagement frameworks, notification systems, referral mechanics, and real-time interactions.
• Design data models, develop APIs, deploy client applications, and monitor live features.
• Create products that cater to millions of users who invest and save through Acorns.
• Proven experience in building social or engagement systems at scale, such as feeds, referral flows, notification systems, social graphs, or real-time interactions.
• Comprehensive end-to-end feature ownership, encompassing data modeling, API development, client implementation, and production monitoring.
• Delivery of production features across multiple platforms including iOS, Android, and Web, with significant expertise in at least one of them.
• Skilled in instrumenting growth or engagement features with analytics events and utilizing data to inform iterations.
• Experience thriving in a dynamic, low-process environment with a self-directed execution approach.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Claude, Copilot, or similar code-generation platforms.
• Practical coding experience or exposure in at least two of the following: Swift, Kotlin, React Native, TypeScript, Dart, and Python.
• Experience in serving millions of users effectively.
• Demonstrated initiative through the development of a side project, open-source tool, or game mechanic.
