Senior Full Stack Engineer, Observability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Go and Python for discovery, assurance, fleet management, and data ingestion.

• Define and enhance versioned gRPC and REST APIs utilizing Protocol Buffers and OpenAPI.

• Create monitoring and telemetry dashboards using React and TypeScript.

• Design dashboard experiences incorporating filters, thresholds, alert states, and links to relevant NetBox devices.

• Collaborate on query and aggregation APIs for extensive fleets and high-frequency telemetry.

• Develop type-safe integration between frontend and backend using generated API clients and shared schemas.

• Participate in the on-call rotation within the team.

• Implement automated testing across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end layers.

• Work alongside product managers, designers, customer-facing teams, and engineering teams.

• Leverage AI-enabled development tools and agentic workflows during design, coding, testing, review, and incident management.

• Review code, mentor colleagues, and promote engineering best practices.

• Engage in planning activities and contribute to shaping the roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Significant experience in production environments for both backend and frontend development.

• Proficient in Go and Python; strong expertise in one and working knowledge in the other.

• Experience in designing and managing gRPC services with Protocol Buffers, including schema evolution, backward compatibility, streaming RPCs, deadlines, interceptors/middleware, and error handling.

• Background in building distributed, event-driven systems, encompassing message queues, asynchronous job processing, and idempotent data ingestion.

• Strong skills in React and TypeScript.

• Proven track record in developing monitoring, observability, or analytics dashboards.

• Hands-on experience with data visualization libraries.

• Experience in efficiently rendering large or high-frequency datasets.

• Familiarity with handling real-time browser data through WebSockets, server-sent events, or gRPC-Web streaming.

• Knowledge of modern CSS, responsive layouts, and practical accessibility, including WCAG compliance, color-blind-safe palettes, and accessible charts.

• Experience with automated frontend testing using Jest and React Testing Library, including visual regression testing.

• Regular use of AI coding assistants and tools.

• Sound judgment in verifying AI outputs and safeguarding sensitive information.

• Understanding of prompting and context techniques for AI applications.

• Strong communication skills and collaborative work capability.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to product and technical decision-making.
