Senior Full Stack Engineer – Industrial Sustainability Reporting Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable APIs, services, and user interfaces that prioritize accessibility.

• Implement AI-driven features across both front-end and back-end solutions for carbon accounting, ESG data collection, and sustainability initiatives.

• Transform the platform into modular, event-driven, API-centric components.

• Provide technical guidance and make engineering decisions concerning scalability, maintainability, performance, and product impact.

• Ensure reliability and operational excellence, which includes telemetry, SLOs, error budgets, on-call rotations, incident response, and continuous service enhancements.

• Advocate for DevOps practices, encompassing CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, and application-level operations.

• Collaborate with Platform Engineers within a lean DevOps shared service framework while managing application-level DevOps.

• Mentor engineers and foster engineering best practices.

• Promote code quality, documentation, automated testing, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Take ownership of the quality of deliverables, test automation, continuous improvement, and readiness for production.

• Partner with Product Management, Design, AI, Platform Engineering, and engineering teams for product discovery, technical decision-making, and delivery.

• Address customer challenges with scalable engineering solutions.

• Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities to enhance platform architecture and engineering methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in full stack software engineering, encompassing both front-end and back-end development.

• Strong proficiency in modern front-end technologies, especially React or similar frameworks.

• Solid back-end engineering experience, ideally with GoLang or similar general-purpose programming languages.

• Experience in designing and developing scalable APIs, services, and cloud-native applications.

• Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, automation, and incident response.

• Proven track record of delivering secure, observable, high-quality production software.

• Emphasis on code quality, automated testing, documentation, performance, and maintainability.

• Capability to lead technical design discussions and influence architectural choices.

• Strong collaborative and communication skills across Product, Design, Platform, and Engineering teams.

• Ownership mentality with accountability from design through to production.

• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus.

• Experience with event-driven architectures, distributed systems, or microservices is advantageous.

• Background in PostgreSQL or relational databases is preferred.

• Experience working in cross-functional product teams is beneficial.

• Previous mentorship of engineers or contributions to engineering standards is a plus.

• Experience with AI-enabled, data-intensive, sustainability, carbon intelligence, ESG reporting, or enterprise SaaS products is desirable.

• Familiarity with GHG Protocol, CSRD, or SBTi is advantageous.

• Understanding of observability, reliability engineering, SLOs, error budgets, and production incident management is desirable.
