Senior Full Stack Developer – PHP, Laravel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain both new and existing web applications and APIs within the VoIP/Telco sector.

• Develop software solutions for a partner organization in the Food & Hospitality sector.

• Construct front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, alongside high-quality back-end PHP code.

• Manage vanilla PHP applications without relying on frameworks.

• Create Laravel applications and modern front-end solutions utilizing React, Vue.js, or similar frameworks.

• Transition legacy code from PHP 5.4 to PHP 8 or higher.

• Balance approximately 50% of work between back-end and front-end development tasks.

• Engage in development using jQuery, vanilla JavaScript, and contemporary JavaScript frameworks.

• Compose efficient MySQL queries and handle large datasets effectively.

• Support and build PHP APIs for clients and resellers.

• Develop integrations with external APIs and third-party services.

• Contribute to customer-facing websites and account management portals.

• Revise and enhance administration portals for client, service, and support ticket management.

• Create features across administration, reseller, and customer portals.

• Develop and uphold point-of-sale software solutions.

• Create payment integration systems.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for tasks such as development, debugging, refactoring, testing, and documentation.

• Collaborate with AI coding agents while reviewing and validating generated code prior to merging or deployment.

• Analyze unfamiliar codebases and bugs with AI, ensuring code quality is maintained.

• Communicate effectively with team members and clients.

• Identify and resolve bugs as necessary.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Profound knowledge of PHP, encompassing both legacy and modern versions (7/8+).

• Experience with Laravel or another up-to-date PHP framework.

• Strong understanding of MySQL, including the ability to write efficient queries for extensive datasets.

• Solid expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• In-depth knowledge of jQuery and experience managing existing jQuery-based applications.

• Familiarity with React, Vue.js, or a similar modern JavaScript framework.

• Experience in building and utilizing REST APIs and integrating with external APIs.

• Proficiency with Git or comparable version control systems.

• Comfortable working with Linux servers and command-line tools such as SSH/PuTTY, Git, and various Linux utilities.

• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) practices.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar resources.

• Ability to formulate effective prompts and provide AI tools with the necessary context, requirements, and constraints for the codebase.

• Competence in critically reviewing AI-generated code.

• Understanding of when to apply AI-assisted development and when manual investigation, debugging, and engineering judgment are necessary.

• Capability to communicate effectively, work autonomously, think critically, and solve problems without ongoing supervision.

• More than 8 years of professional experience in software development.

• Candidates must submit a portfolio or examples of prior development work.

• Portfolio should feature web applications, APIs, portals, or other personally completed software projects.

• Portfolio must include samples of PHP and JavaScript code.

• Examples of experience with Laravel, React, Vue.js, or similar frameworks are required.

• Provide repository links where applicable, such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.

• Description of personal contributions to private or commercial projects is necessary.

• Screenshots, live application links, or demonstrations should be included when appropriate.
