This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the technical design of platform capabilities by defining service contracts, event schemas, and data models prior to writing any code.
• Take ownership of the hands-on building, testing, and support — writing, reviewing, testing, and deploying production-ready services from concept to live operation, ensuring full accountability for quality, delivery, and production support.
• Promote an API-first, event-driven architecture, ensuring that all services and integrations adhere to established platform patterns and governance standards.
• Integrate AI-assisted engineering practices into the daily development process to enhance velocity, improve code quality, and maintain platform consistency.
• Design and implement integrations with the policy administration system and all upstream and downstream service dependencies.
• Develop durable workflow solutions for intricate, long-running insurance processes such as underwriting and policy issuance.
• Work closely with the Product Owner and Solution Architect to break down requirements, make informed trade-offs, and align engineering decisions with business outcomes.
• Build secure, compliant services by incorporating identity, access control, encryption, and regulatory compliance patterns into every component from the outset.
• Ensure data integrity and testing quality across persistence, calculation logic, and validation suites — guaranteeing that correctness is demonstrable, not merely assumed.
• Raise the engineering standard through code and architecture reviews, ownership of platform standards, and removing obstacles for the team in a dynamic, production-first environment.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of owning and delivering production systems from start to finish, including hands-on design leadership.
• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript / Node.js with extensive experience in building and operating microservices on cloud-native container infrastructures.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with event-driven architecture.
• Proficient in AI-assisted development tools and actively employ them to generate, validate, and refactor code as part of the standard engineering process.
• Strong expertise across both document and relational database models.
• In-depth understanding of Zero Trust security practices.
• Robust testing discipline encompassing unit, integration, E2E, and performance testing.
• Employees are eligible for an annual incentive bonus designed to reward performance.
• Flexible paid time off for PTO, in addition to paid holidays, days of significance, and a volunteer day.
• Paid parental leave available after 3 months of service.
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
• 401k plan with company match.
• Profit-sharing and savings plan.
• Short-term and long-term disability insurance.
• Flexible spending account.
• Life insurance.
• Educational assistance.
• Associate assistance programs and more!
