Senior Full-Stack AI Engineer – Agentic Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance NISTCompliance.ai, Quzara's AI-driven cybersecurity compliance platform.

• Design, create, test, and deploy production features across the frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and AI services.

• Create AI-enhanced product functionalities utilizing leading large language models and generative AI platforms.

• Design and execute agentic workflows that involve tool usage, structured outputs, multi-step tasks, and human supervision.

• Advance and refine retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, document intelligence, and knowledge-retrieval features.

• Integrate AI functionalities into pre-existing application workflows and enterprise systems.

• Establish reliable evaluation, testing, monitoring, and observability for AI-driven features.

• Develop secure, scalable APIs and backend services that support AI-enabled applications.

• Utilize AI-assisted coding tools for repository analysis, development, testing, debugging, refactoring, and code reviews.

• Troubleshoot complex engineering challenges across application, AI, data, and cloud layers.

• Contribute to architectural design, engineering standards, code reviews, and provide technical mentoring.

• Assess emerging AI technologies to identify suitable capabilities for production implementation.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Proven experience managing complex software features or systems from design to production.

• Strong background in full-stack development.

• Advanced expertise in Python.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and contemporary web application development.

• Experience in building and integrating REST APIs and production backend services.

• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or equivalent.

• Practical experience integrating commercial LLMs like Anthropic Claude, OpenAI models, or similar platforms into production applications.

• Hands-on experience with agentic AI, tool/function calling, structured model outputs, and multi-step AI workflows.

• Experience in developing RAG or similar retrieval-based AI applications.

• Significant hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar platforms.

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including testing, source control, CI/CD, observability, security, and maintainable application architecture.

• Experience with Docker and modern cloud application development.

• Ability to independently translate ambiguous product requirements into production-ready software.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Preferred: Experience in designing AI agents or multi-agent systems.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar agent/tool integration methodologies.

• Preferred: Experience with AI orchestration frameworks and agent SDKs.

• Preferred: Background in LLM evaluation, observability, benchmarking, or LLMOps platforms.

• Preferred: Experience with vector search, embeddings, document processing, or enterprise knowledge systems.

• Preferred: Experience developing multi-tenant enterprise SaaS applications.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other leading cloud platforms.

• Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, GRC, or federal technology is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Preferred: Experience mentoring other software engineers.
