Senior Frontend Software Engineer – Home Experience

• Collaborate across various functions, partnering with product, design, and other engineering teams to create innovative products and features that delight our users.

• Join a team of dedicated, dynamic, and driven engineers. Contribute to establishing standards that enhance developer workflows, promote best practices, and mentor team members to elevate their technical skills.

• Take ownership of the complete development cycle for significant projects: design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You will be involved in writing and reviewing code and design documents, providing feedback on product specifications and mockups, and ensuring the successful delivery of these crucial projects.

• Play a vital role in the planning, development, and execution of essential projects within Reddit’s web architecture, collaborating with backend and other client engineers.

• Foster a culture of metrics-driven execution, emphasizing operational excellence and system observability.

• Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to create an effective roadmap that aligns with our product and engineering objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of software development experience in one or more front-end programming languages; including JavaScript, TypeScript, and ES6.

• Proficient in one or more front-end web frameworks such as LIT, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular, along with experience in CSS.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to decompose and prioritize tasks for yourself and others while ensuring projects remain on schedule.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• A strong emphasis on user experience and usability. You are a steadfast advocate for the user, possessing a deep understanding of how people think and interact with software. Experience in social contexts is a significant advantage.

• Entrepreneurial mindset. You are self-motivated, innovative, and inclined to take initiative in fast-paced settings. You enjoy creating new solutions and thrive in uncertain environments.

• Exceptional communication skills. You collaborate effectively with teams in a fully remote setup and can discuss complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift basics, and the capability to design and implement maintainable APIs is a plus.

• Understanding of large-scale web applications, including considerations and techniques for handling high requests per second (RPS) and complex pages, is a significant advantage.
