Senior Frontend Engineer – Product Features

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Leading the design and development of high-performance, engaging user interfaces utilizing contemporary frontend frameworks.

• Fostering collaboration with Product Managers, designers, and other engineers to outline, define, and implement significant product features.

• Advancing and scaling Canva’s frontend architecture through the creation of reusable component libraries and integrated design systems.

• Advocating for accessibility, performance, and engineering best practices across various product surfaces.

• Composing robust, well-tested code while proactively identifying opportunities for technical enhancement or refactoring.

• Steering design and code reviews, mentoring colleagues, and elevating the technical standards of your team.

• You possess extensive experience in constructing complex, user-facing applications utilizing modern frontend technologies (we use React and TypeScript).

• You have a solid foundation in JavaScript and a profound understanding of the web platform.

• You are comfortable taking full ownership of features from inception to delivery, thriving in environments where you determine the "how."

• You maintain a balance between attention to detail and pragmatism, consistently delivering quality code swiftly.

• You are a considerate collaborator who effectively engages with various disciplines and actively involves others in the process.

• You grasp the broader context—how your contributions relate to product objectives, user experience, and long-term scalability.
