
Senior Frontend Engineer – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Create pixel-perfect, responsive interfaces from Figma utilizing React, TypeScript, and Material UI.
• Take ownership of features from design handoff through to implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration.
• Develop complex, validated forms using React Hook Form.
• Ensure mobile-first and tablet-first user experiences for field workflows.
• Manage unit, integration, and end-to-end frontend testing.
• Promote frontend quality standards and best practices.
• Enhance bundle size, rendering performance, and Core Web Vitals.
• Extend and customize Material UI components with advanced CSS techniques.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering teams.
• Engage in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Quickly deliver MVPs and iterate based on user feedback.
• Communicate effectively in an async-first environment using Slack, Notion, and Loom.
• Assist in defining component patterns and frontend architecture.
• Support the transition from JavaScript to TypeScript.
• Contribute to the design system and address technical debt.
• Review AI-generated code with a focus on architecture, UX decisions, edge cases, and quality.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in building production-level React applications.
• Strong experience with TypeScript or readiness to fully adopt it.
• Extensive experience with Material UI version 5 or later.
• Expert knowledge of Redux Toolkit and RTK Query.
• Advanced CSS3 proficiency, including Flexbox, Grid, responsive design, and mobile-first principles.
• Experience in building complex forms with React Hook Form.
• Practical frontend testing experience with Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Ability to execute pixel-accurate Figma-to-code translations.
• Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first user experiences.
• Experience with performance optimization, code splitting, lazy loading, and profiling.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Comfortable with pull request-based Git workflows and conducting code reviews.
• Familiarity with tools such as Slack, Figma, Vite, or Webpack.
• Strong written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Must reside in Eastern Europe.
• Must have consistent overlap with U.S. working hours, including at least four hours of daily availability during U.S. Eastern Time.
• Comfortable working as an independent contractor.
• Proficient in using AI-assisted development tools regularly, including Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Must review and validate AI-generated code.
• Preferred experience with Firebase Authentication or Storage, mapping libraries, GraphQL or REST APIs, monorepos or micro-frontends, and B2B SaaS or field-service software.
