This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Assume responsibility for the frontend experience, overseeing everything from design to deployment and operations.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and PMs to deliver features in each cycle, iterating based on actual usage and feedback.
• Engage in design and code discussions, making trade-offs and decisions that influence both the product and the team.
• Maintain a strong emphasis on automated testing, utilizing the testing pyramid to ensure unit, integration, and end-to-end coverage.
• Enhance frontend observability by incorporating metrics, dashboards, and alerts using tools like Datadog, Sentry, and web vitals to identify issues before they affect users.
• Actively participate in the Frontend Guild, working with other engineers to share ideas, elevate standards, and address cross-team frontend challenges.
• Lead technical discussions regarding trade-offs in features, architecture, and UX, aiding the team in making informed decisions that balance product objectives and engineering constraints.
• Work within a hybrid codebase, balancing tasks between legacy systems and modern React/TypeScript.
• Over 7 years of software development experience, particularly in modern web frontend technologies.
• You take ownership of the code you create and the areas you manage, identifying bugs, performance issues, or UX gaps, and addressing them proactively without waiting for guidance.
• You possess a product-oriented mindset—considering the end user of your work, questioning the rationale before the method, and challenging decisions that lack clarity.
• You actively utilize AI tools in your daily development processes, viewing them as enhancers for productivity, code quality, and problem-solving.
• Excellent English communication skills—capable of clearly articulating complex technical concepts to engineers, designers, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong product thinking and a focus on user experience, paying attention to details such as edge cases, empty states, and error handling.
• Comfortable collaborating with both remote and co-located teams to achieve results.
• Structured, analytical, and highly collaborative, especially in a remote environment.
• Nice to haves
• Experience with frontend observability (Datadog, error tracking, monitoring, performance metrics, web vitals).
• Familiarity with mobile-first design, atomic design principles, design systems, and progressive enhancement for responsive applications.
• Full-stack mindset: while you may not have actively engaged in backend coding, you comprehend essential architectural principles such as event-driven architectures, caching strategies, eventual consistency, and effective frontend-backend communication.
• You have explored various AI applications in product development and have views on how it could improve products or workflows.
• 28 working days of holiday, in addition to local bank holidays.
• Monthly £/€40 Treatwell vouchers to indulge yourself.
• Mental health support through our partnership with Open-Up.
• Market-specific benefits to be discussed during the interview process.
