Senior Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance the frontend architecture utilizing React, Next.js, and TypeScript, establishing patterns and standards for the team to adhere to.

• Lead initiatives for frontend best practices throughout the engineering organization, focusing on code quality, accessibility, performance metrics, and design of component libraries.

• Collaborate with engineering leads and product managers to influence and shape technical decisions, offering your expertise during architecture discussions and design evaluations.

• Drive initiatives aimed at optimizing frontend performance, ensuring rapid load times, responsive layouts, and seamless interactions across various devices.

• Deconstruct complex user stories into distinct, actionable technical tasks and guide their execution from planning through to delivery.

• Mentor and uplift fellow engineers through hands-on code reviews, pairing sessions, and by documenting frontend standards.

• Work collaboratively across multiple teams in an Agile setting, actively engaging in cross-team brainstorming and taking the lead on frontend-related decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with at least 5 years dedicated primarily to frontend development.

• Expert-level knowledge of React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with a profound understanding of component lifecycle, state management, and rendering optimization.

• Demonstrated success in leading frontend architecture decisions in collaborative, multi-team settings, rather than merely executing isolated tickets.

• Strong experience with REST API integration and the development of seamless data-driven user interfaces (experience with GraphQL is advantageous).

• Comprehensive understanding of frontend performance optimization, responsive design, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Exceptional communication skills: able to clearly explain technical concepts, present proposals to stakeholders, and unite cross-functional teams around a common approach.

• Experience in larger team environments where you have actively contributed to brainstorming sessions, influenced architectural direction, and taken responsibility for core decisions.

• Located in Latin America (this is a remote position).

• Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher (daily communication with teams based in the US).
