Senior Frontend Engineer – Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable, high-quality frontend components and features for Hostaway’s Trust Accounting white-label product.

• Create intuitive, high-performance, and reliable user workflows for financial operations, encompassing trust accounting, payment visibility, fund movement tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.

• Build and enhance a flexible, white-label React application capable of supporting various customer configurations and branded experiences.

• Participate in shaping the frontend architecture of a secure, scalable, auditable, and compliant financial subsystem.

• Develop and maintain reusable component libraries while contributing to the evolution of the design system.

• Ensure frontend performance optimization, responsive layouts, accessibility, and compatibility across different browsers.

• Document the frontend architecture, components, patterns, and significant technical decisions to facilitate knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.

• Take the initiative to identify and implement enhancements in frontend systems, delivery reliability, observability, and user experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in SaaS software development, with a strong focus on frontend engineering.

• High proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.

• Demonstrable experience in creating scalable, maintainable frontend applications within product-focused engineering settings.

• Experience with accounting, ledger, payment, or financial operations products is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with state management solutions like Redux, Redux-saga, Context APIs, or similar patterns.

• Experience in developing white-label or highly configurable frontend applications is strongly preferred.

• Deep understanding of accessibility, frontend performance optimization, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools.

• Background working in agile environments with distributed, cross-functional teams and adapting to rapidly changing priorities.

• Nice to Have: Experience with trust accounting, escrow, client money handling, property management accounting, or owner statement workflows.

• Nice to Have: Experience with embedded payments, payment processors, payment operations, or fintech products.

• Nice to Have: Experience in building dashboards or reporting interfaces for finance, accounting, or operations teams.

• Nice to Have: Ability to design interfaces that ensure auditability, traceability, permissions, and operational review for financial workflows.

• Nice to Have: Familiarity with compliance-sensitive product areas, particularly where accuracy, audit trails, and customer trust are critical.
