Senior Frontend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Serve as the technical authority for the team, ensuring the quality and ongoing development of projects while mentoring junior developers, fostering best practices, and managing the technical debt backlog.

• Assist the product manager during the solution phase and evaluate the technical feasibility of features, bugs, and tasks by refining items in detail for team handoff.

• Manage impediments: proactively identify and take action when blockers or obstacles arise, whether they are business-related questions or technical issues.

• Track deadlines: oversee the technical progress of team members to provide guidance and take preventive measures if any risk of delay is detected.

• Define solutions collaboratively with other senior engineers; make final decisions regarding the architecture to be implemented.

• Uphold standards, ensuring that the team adheres to the company's coding, testing, and documentation guidelines.

• Conduct code reviews: act as the final quality checkpoint for critical or architectural pull requests (PRs).

• Foster a documentation culture: create and maintain up-to-date technical documentation (ADRs - Architecture Decision Records, RFCs, architecture diagrams, API Docs/Swagger).

• Promote knowledge decentralization: implement and lead troubleshooting processes (Runbooks) so that any team member can address known incidents.

• Document legacy systems: map and record critical processes of legacy systems as you engage with them.

• Mentor and technically guide mid-level and junior developers through pair programming and technical discussions.

• Assess technical feasibility: analyze requests in collaboration with product stakeholders, evaluate feasibility, suggest alternatives (MVPs), and negotiate deadlines with coordination.

• Negotiate technical debt: act as the guardian of product health alongside the performance team, identifying technical debt that requires attention.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in modern ecosystems: Advanced skills in React or AngularJs for Frontend development, with understanding of Backend and Architecture concepts; profound knowledge of component lifecycle, hooks, and complex state management (Redux, React Query).

• Strong foundational skills: Proficient in TypeScript, ES6+, CSS-in-JS (Styled Components, Tailwind), and semantic HTML.

• Performance and optimization knowledge: Familiarity with caching strategies, event queuing, and large-scale data processing.

• Assertive communication: Effective communication skills to align expectations and negotiate deadlines across various areas (technical and business).

• Product mindset: Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications; not just execute but comprehend the problem to be solved and its objectives.

• Organizational skills: Strong capability to organize, plan, and manage tasks and projects efficiently.

• Conflict resolution: Ability to mediate situations—frequent incidents and coordination efforts arise during development.

• Systems thinking: Capability to understand how services integrate to prevent architectural bottlenecks.

• Initiative and proactivity: Contribute to identifying technical debt, improvements, and suggestions as processes are being established.
