Senior Front End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Design and develop customer-facing features using React and TypeScript that fulfill performance, accessibility (a11y), and SEO objectives.

• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to convert requirements into technical designs and estimates.

• Write clean, maintainable code and uphold a component-driven design system.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and non-functional requirements including scalability, security, and observability.

• Enhance site performance and Core Web Vitals by optimizing bundles, rendering strategies, and caching mechanisms.

• Implement and sustain automated testing (unit, integration, and E2E).

• Engage in sprint planning, code reviews, and oversee the delivery processes from story inception to production rollout.

• Provide support for production services on a rotational basis and troubleshoot incidents to reduce downtime.

• Mentor team members and assist in elevating the engineering standards of the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional front-end development experience (or equivalent demonstrable experience).

• 3+ years of experience in building production applications with React and TypeScript.

• Strong proficiency with modern front-end tools: bundlers (webpack/Vite/Gulp), state management, component libraries, and design systems.

• Proven track record of delivering features used in production and managing them throughout their lifecycle.

• Experience in writing automated tests (Jest/React Testing Library, Cypress, or similar).

• Solid understanding of web performance optimization, SEO principles, and accessibility best practices.

• Familiarity with secure development practices and foundational security testing concepts.

• Experience working in agile teams and collaborating across various disciplines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows and prompt engineering best practices.

• Nice to have: Experience with server-side rendering/hybrid frameworks (Next.js) and edge caching strategies.

• Familiarity with AWS or Azure services and CI/CD (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions).

• Experience with GraphQL, Node.js backends, or CMS integrations.
