• Act as a reliable financial advisor to functional leaders, proactively identifying risks and opportunities with a strategic perspective.
• Oversee cross-functional planning processes that require you to align, challenge, and consolidate input from Sales, Product, Marketing, and Operations.
• Convert complex financial data into clear insights suitable for executive audiences who may not have a finance background.
• Direct all forecasting efforts, including revenue, cash, operating models, and long-term projections.
• Manage the annual budgeting process from start to finish, coordinating contributions across various departments.
• Create and monitor KPIs that link operational activities to financial results.
• Generate ad hoc and ongoing reports for internal teams, executives, and investors.
• Establish scalable and repeatable processes for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Spearhead the FP&A team's adoption of AI technologies, setting the benchmark for AI proficiency within the Finance department and mentoring the FP&A Analyst accordingly.
• Assist in the implementation and administration of EPM/ERP systems as Roo expands.
• Collaborate with Accounting to ensure reporting is accurate and efficient.
• Lead and develop junior FP&A talent and contractors, gradually building team scope and headcount.
• At least 8 years of progressive FP&A experience in high-growth or startup settings.
• Proven track record as a cross-functional partner and strategic advisor to executive leadership, rather than merely a financial analyst supporting them.
• Practical experience with AI and automation applied to FP&A workflows (essential); must provide specific examples.
• Expertise in advanced financial modeling: including 3-statement modeling, revenue forecasting, cash forecasting, long-range planning, and valuation.
• High proficiency in Google Sheets; experience transitioning from Excel is a plus.
• Familiarity with EPM/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Netsuite, Adaptive, Aleph).
• Experience with SQL and/or Python is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
• Previous experience managing direct reports is preferred.
