Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Lead end-to-end engagements that are deployed forward, ranging from defining each customer's technical objectives to designing the deployment strategy, and advancing POCs to a fully operational state and eventual production.

• Create and implement modifications to the platform and its deployment to Kubernetes, facilitating enterprise adoption and contributing enhancements back to Stackok Enterprise.

• Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise adoption, addressing in-depth platform and Kubernetes inquiries while offering hands-on assistance to customers and Design Partners.

• Take ownership of the technical discussions within your area, making swift reversible decisions and involving the team anchor as scope and risk expand.

• Collaborate with senior colleagues and relay field insights during standups, planning, and design reviews to shape priorities and the execution of engagements.

• Mentor teammates in your areas of expertise, particularly Kubernetes, and assist in the recruitment process when necessary.

• Implement AI-assisted workflows and enhance reusable tools and playbooks to expedite each engagement for the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes, including cluster architecture, workload types, networking, storage, RBAC, and resource management.

• Strong understanding of operators and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs): capable of reasoning about control loops, CRD versioning, status, and finalizers, and proficient in writing controllers in Go utilizing Kubebuilder or the Operator SDK.

• Demonstrated experience in deploying to managed Kubernetes, knowledgeable about its integration with cloud infrastructure (IAM, networking, storage), including Helm authoring and GitOps via Flux or ArgoCD.

• Comfortable engaging directly with customers, including performing over-the-shoulder debugging across diverse enterprise permission frameworks, and clearly articulating root causes and remediation steps.

• Strong understanding of observability principles across metrics, logs, and traces, and when to apply each. Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and platforms like Datadog or Grafana is advantageous.

• Proven track record in delivering production-quality systems and providing fixes back to the products you support. Hands-on experience with MCP servers or AI agent tooling is a significant plus.

• AI-first approach: an active user of AI coding assistants who incorporates agentic workflows (skills, agents, rules, hooks) into daily tasks and experiments with AI to enhance and speed up delivery.
