Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire delivery quality for a significant engagement, workstream, or solution domain.

• Convert unclear client requirements into actionable execution plans, technical milestones, and deliverable outcomes.

• Keep a transparent overview of status, risks, obstacles, and dependencies within your area of responsibility.

• Identify quality issues promptly and adjust the course before client trust is compromised.

• Direct solution architecture and make technical decisions for your workstream.

• Balance tradeoffs between speed, quality, scope, maintainability, cost, latency, and client value, and articulate your rationale.

• Evaluate critical technical work prior to sharing it with clients or considering it production-ready.

• Design and implement AI/ML solutions utilizing Python, contemporary ML frameworks, LLM orchestration tools, and cloud-native infrastructure.

• Serve as the senior technical representative on your engagement, gaining credibility with both engineers and executives.

• Identify risks related to technology, delivery, scope, timelines, and client alignment early on.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, encompassing substantial backend or full-stack expertise.

• Proven history of independently managing complex and ambiguous technical projects from conception to production.

• Strong programming capabilities in Python; proficiency in at least one additional language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or similar).

• Demonstrated experience in delivering real-world ML/AI systems in production, beyond just prototypes.

• Strong familiarity with modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), infrastructure-as-code practices, and CI/CD processes.

• Exceptional communication skills with clients: able to engage effectively, articulate tradeoffs, and deliver unfavorable news early.

• Strong architectural judgment and the ability to escalate issues at the appropriate moment rather than waiting until the last minute.
