Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with clients to design and implement solutions addressing data and AI challenges utilizing the Databricks platform.

• Take ownership of architecture, lead design decisions, and execute end-to-end systems that encompass data engineering, AI, and application development.

• Deliver production-quality systems, reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion processes, and integrations of ML/AI models.

• Assist strategic clients throughout the complete design, build, and deployment phases of big data and AI applications.

• Define the scope of technical delivery tasks in collaboration with engagement managers and customer insights.

• Advise clients on architecture and design while supporting project assessment and the adoption of Databricks.

• Ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, and meet customer requirements while adhering to Databricks best practices.

• Work closely with Databricks technical teams, project managers, architects, customer teams, Engineering, and Customer Support.

• Provide feedback on products and implementations, assisting in resolving engagement-specific product and support concerns.

• Integrate with customer teams and engage stakeholders ranging from technical contributors to executives.

• Contribute to accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that can be scaled across accounts and shape the Databricks product roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 9 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.

• Proficient in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and contemporary frameworks.

• Familiar with at least two common cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), with expertise in at least one.

• Extensive experience with distributed computing utilizing Apache Spark and an understanding of Spark runtime internals.

• Knowledgeable in CI/CD practices for production deployments.

• Familiar with MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.

• Proven experience in designing and deploying efficient production end-to-end data architectures and applications that integrate data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user-facing interfaces.

• Experienced in technical project delivery, including defining scope, timelines, measurable outcomes, and translating complex ideas into actionable solutions.

• Strong documentation and white-boarding capabilities.

• Experience collaborating with enterprise clients and managing conflicts among diverse stakeholder groups.

• Demonstrates curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to explore technologies that support Databricks-based solution deployment and integration.

• Willingness to travel to customer sites approximately 20% of the time.

• Databricks Certification.
