Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly with GP clients to pinpoint workflows where customized AI agents can provide leverage.

• Conduct discovery sessions and translate unclear business challenges into defined requirements, scope, and acceptance criteria.

• Guide solutions from the prototyping phase and client validation to hardening, deployment, and full production rollout.

• Design and construct agentic systems, which include retrieval and context design, tool and MCP integration, orchestration, evaluation harnesses, observability, and cost management.

• Independently manage client-edge solutions while collaborating with platform and product engineering teams.

• Make engineering decisions that balance reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Take ownership of deployed solutions through user adoption, post-launch support, iterative feedback from users, and ongoing operations.

• Create documentation, provide user training, and oversee rollouts.

• Set technical standards for less experienced engineers and assist them in managing engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience delivering software from start to finish, with practical experience in developing AI-enabled applications.

• Proven history of taking ownership of delivery, not just implementation.

• Capability to convert vague business needs into actionable requirements and deliver functional software.

• Comprehensive full-stack engineering skills across data, services, user interfaces, and infrastructure.

• Practical experience in deploying and managing applications on a significant cloud platform.

• Knowledge of containers, infrastructure as code, CI/CD processes, and production monitoring.

• Experience in working directly with external clients or customers.

• Proficiency in AI-assisted development, with the ability to understand, debug, and advocate for all produced outputs.

• Strong product judgment regarding scope definition, prioritization, and successful release completion.

• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

• Experience in private markets, financial services, or another regulated, data-sensitive field is a plus.

• Familiarity with application security, client-data management, SOC 2 requirements, and multi-tenant isolation is beneficial.

• Experience in building evaluation and regression tests for non-deterministic systems is an added advantage.

• Background in consulting, professional services, or forward-deployed engineering is desirable.
