Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with one or two teams during each cycle and take ownership of AI solutions from the initial intake brief to production deployment and monitoring.

• Determine whether to develop, wrap, or assess each initiative while establishing its validation criteria.

• Develop autonomous capabilities, including tool/function invocation, RAG, MCP integrations, multi-step orchestration, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.

• Design solutions on Prenuvo’s shared AI platform, encompassing model serving, AWS Bedrock foundation-model contracts, evaluation harnesses, monitoring, tool registry, and prompt guardrails.

• Establish acceptance standards, both offline and online evaluations, as well as escalation triggers prior to development.

• Guide initiatives through AI intake and risk categorization processes.

• Provide reusable validated templates, registered tools, or reference architectures following each engagement.

• Enhance AI fluency across teams through design reviews and office hours.

• Empower teams to independently deploy AI features using shared templates and champions.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least six years of experience in building and delivering product-grade software.

• Proven history of launching AI-powered features into production, including LLM and/or imaging through tool calling, RAG, or agent orchestration.

• Proficient full-stack developer.

• Knowledge of probabilistic software, including model evaluation and understanding failure modes.

• Capability to articulate and uphold a validation standard with senior clinical, product, and engineering stakeholders.

• Skills in product delivery, encompassing request scoping, prioritization, and converting product requirements into validated designs.

• Strong proficiency in Python.

• Practical experience in cloud engineering and deployment, including APIs; familiarity with AWS and Bedrock is preferred.

• Comfortable working directly within another team’s codebase.

• Hands-on experience with contemporary evaluation frameworks and human-in-the-loop design.

• Experience in constructing evaluation harnesses and defining acceptance criteria.

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and must not require current or future employer visa sponsorship.

• Successful applicants will be subject to a background check.

• Preferred qualifications include experience in regulated, clinical, or healthcare data; familiarity with FDA, Health Canada, ISO 13485, or similar standards; PHI experience; AWS/Bedrock; MCP; consulting, solutions architecture, or forward-deployed experience.
