Senior Financial Management Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collect, document, and analyze both business and functional requirements for enhancements and implementations within financial systems.

• Work collaboratively with government stakeholders, technical developers, and system integrators to assist in implementation activities.

• Assess existing financial management processes and propose improvements driven by systems.

• Aid in system configuration reviews, validate business rules, and engage in discussions regarding functional design.

• Create process flows, use cases, requirements documentation, and functional specifications.

• Examine financial data and system outputs to ensure adherence to GTAS, USSGL, Treasury, and DoW reporting standards.

• Confirm the validity of financial transactions and reporting results produced by the implemented solutions.

• Assist with trading partner reconciliation processes and the resolution of discrepancies in financial data.

• Provide expert knowledge on DFAS reporting processes, requirements for financial statements, and considerations for audit readiness.

• Help with data conversion, validation, and reconciliation tasks during implementation initiatives.

• Create and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and functional testing scenarios.

• Validate interfaces, outputs of financial reporting, and transactions generated by the system.

• Document defects, assist in resolving issues, and confirm corrective actions.

• Support deployment planning, the development of training, and activities post-implementation.

• Lead requirements sessions, workshops, and meetings with stakeholders.

• Act as a bridge between financial management personnel and technical development teams.

• Prepare briefings, implementation status updates, and process documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret Security Clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• 3–8+ years of experience in Department of War or DoD financial management.

• Experience in supporting financial system implementations, modernization efforts, ERP enhancements, or initiatives for business process transformation.

• Familiarity with:

• GTAS reporting processes.

• Trading partner reconciliations.

• USSGL accounting.

• Treasury Financial Manual (TFM) requirements.

• DFAS financial operations and reporting processes.

• Federal financial management business processes.

• Proven experience in gathering business requirements and supporting testing activities.

• Creativity and flexibility in problem-solving.

• Ability to collaborate with clients to ascertain their needs.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
