This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Serve as the primary resource for the formulation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, encompassing data collection, assumption development, documentation, and report creation.
• Prepare and evaluate monthly financial reports and presentations for senior management to support their strategic assessments.
• Contribute to the establishment of new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) pertinent to the organization.
• Analyze both current and historical trends in KPIs, focusing on all facets of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures; identify potential risks and propose financial strategies.
• Produce additional internal management reports, including but not limited to profitability assessments, actual versus budget analyses for each department, churn rates, and cash flow projections.
• Support the reporting process and the preparation of presentations/packages for stakeholders.
• Assist in the organization of data rooms, as needed.
• Enhance and automate existing processes within financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions to boost efficiency and adhere to tight deadlines.
• Review and critically assess business activities, projected results, and key metric assumptions.
• Manage issues as they emerge and ensure timely resolutions.
• Participate in special projects or other responsibilities as required.
• Collaborate closely with the financial reporting team to maintain consistency in accounting practices and coherence between forward-looking and historical financial information.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CA designation is considered an advantage.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in a finance role within a fast-paced environment, with a background in developing and enhancing complex financial models.
• Strong understanding of business fundamentals and financial literacy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a logical, efficient approach and a keen eye for detail.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and the capability to navigate complexity in a dynamic and often ambiguous setting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the capacity to efficiently manage large datasets and clearly present findings to management.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to drive business initiatives from start to finish and provide valuable insights.
• Strong analytical capabilities, self-motivated, proactive, and results-focused.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Dedication to working in team-oriented environments, fostering team effectiveness, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
