Senior Financial Aid Advisor – Temporary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offers customized financial aid guidance to students covering all elements of financial aid programs from federal, state, university, and private loan and scholarship sources.

• Evaluates and confirms eligibility while awarding financial aid across all financial aid programs.

• Tracks student eligibility and manages all aid award modifications due to changes in enrollment, including tuition adjustments, leaves of absence, and withdrawals.

• Engages with external agencies (such as federal student aid, private lenders, loan servicers, and external scholarship providers) to ensure compliant student advisement, eligibility determinations, and awarding processes.

• Handles disbursement transmittals and student communications for federal and private loans, along with institutional scholarships.

• Facilitates financial literacy initiatives and default prevention efforts.

• Maintains a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and processes related to job responsibilities, assists in ensuring departmental adherence to federal and state regulations and university policies, and communicates these effectively to students and staff.

• Completes daily data import processing, regular financial aid reporting, and other assigned duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, communication, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Minimum of four years’ experience in student financial aid, higher education administration, lending/finance, or a related field that necessitates the interpretation and application of regulations and policies.

• Experience with federal student loan administration, scholarship management, and borrower counseling is highly preferred.
