Senior Financial Accountant, m/f/d

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Conduct ongoing financial accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounts.

• Review, categorize, and record both incoming and outgoing invoices.

• Carry out payment transactions, oversee bank accounts, and track and manage open items, including dunning and collections.

• Process travel expenses along with other reimbursement requests.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with HGB (German Commercial Code).

• Prepare preliminary VAT returns and ensure reconciliation with the tax office.

• Collaborate with tax advisors, auditors, and financial authorities.

• Assist in both internal and external audits, including the annual audit.

• Generate analyses, reports, and statistics for management, including support for budget planning and control.

• Monitor fixed assets and conduct asset accounting.

• Maintain and enhance internal processes to ensure data quality.

• Provide support and training to colleagues regarding accounting processes and systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed commercial or vocational training (e.g., tax clerk/Steuerfachangestellter, industrial clerk, office management clerk, or administrative specialist), preferably with additional qualification as Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) or an equivalent certification.

• Several years of professional experience in financial accounting and in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under HGB.

• Proficient user of MS Office, especially Excel; experience with DATEV is an advantage.

• Independent, meticulous, and organized working style with a high level of responsibility.

• Strong numerical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach.
