Senior Finance Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies in data between internal systems, external payment providers, and actual cash received in bank accounts.

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of the Sales-to-Cash process, validating source data, settlement files, financial postings, and bank transactions.

• Verify data against contractual agreements and anticipated reconciliation logic.

• Perform root cause analysis to identify sources of discrepancies and ensure prompt resolution in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

• Manage large datasets, create and optimize queries, and execute structured data audits to guarantee completeness, consistency, and accuracy across systems.

• Assist finance stakeholders by clarifying discrepancies, enhancing data flow transparency, and ensuring proper utilization of reports and tools.

• Participate in the improvement of data processes and system integration initiatives across revenue-related workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and advanced problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to structure and interpret complex datasets.

• Proficient in effectively communicating findings to both technical and business stakeholders.

• English language proficiency at B2 level or above.

• Proficiency in Russian is considered a plus.

• Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities, with experience in working with large datasets and writing optimized queries (joins, subqueries, CTEs).

• Solid grasp of relational databases and data structures, with the ability to reconcile data across various systems.

• Basic yet clear understanding of accounting principles, including financial statements (P&L, balance sheet), debit/credit logic, and reconciliation processes.

• Experience with payment providers or in fintech environments is optional.

• Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, 1C, or similar) is optional.

• Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc.) is optional.

• Basic understanding of data warehouses, cloud platforms (e.g., BigQuery), or system integrations is optional.
