This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Take ownership of and deliver comprehensive financial analysis at the portfolio level for Clinical Solutions departments, focusing on budget health, forecast accuracy, margin performance, and risk identification.
• Oversee financial management of projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from award to closeout, ensuring compliance with financial best practices and internal controls.
• Conduct variance analysis (actuals vs. forecast vs. budget) to uncover the causes of change, scope creep, and emerging risks.
• Collaborate with project finance teams to maintain consistency and integrity of project-level data that contributes to portfolio reporting.
• Assist in enhancing forecasting and planning processes within the department by utilizing clear and supportable assumptions.
• Track budget utilization, earned value indicators, and the impact of change orders across various portfolios.
• Provide forward-looking insights to facilitate proactive financial decision-making among operational leadership.
• Aid in the continuous enhancement of financial processes, controls, and reporting standards.
• Design and maintain trial operations KPIs and metrics that connect operational performance to financial outcomes (e.g., enrollment pace vs. burn, milestone progress vs. revenue, site activity vs. cost).
• Utilize Excel and Power BI to develop scalable dashboards and analyses that assist with portfolio governance and executive reviews.
• Convert complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders who are not finance experts.
• Serve as a trusted finance partner to heads of Clinical Solutions departments, assisting with planning, performance evaluations, and strategic initiatives.
• Create and present high-quality presentations and executive-ready materials that summarize portfolio performance, risks, and recommendations.
• Support ad hoc analyses and special projects as requested by Finance leadership, Clinical Operations leadership, or executive management.
• Work closely with Project Management, Clinical Operations, Data Management, and Finance teams to ensure that operational execution aligns with financial reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree (or its international equivalent) plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• A degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or its international equivalent).
• Approximately 5-8 years of pertinent experience in project finance, FP&A, or operational finance, with a strong preference for experience in the CRO or clinical research industries.
• Proven experience in managing or analyzing clinical trial portfolios and complex project financials.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, scenario analysis, handling large data sets).
• Familiarity with Power BI or similar business intelligence/visualization tools.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with a history of presenting to senior leaders and department heads.
• Strong understanding of financial drivers in clinical trials, project lifecycles, and contract/budget mechanics.
