Senior Finance Operation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee the submission process for Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) applications.

• Assist with equity, construction, and permanent loan closings.

• Manage Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures, due diligence requirements, and submissions via secure portals.

• Monitor project milestones from the initiation of construction financing to the conversion to permanent loans.

• Supervise cost certification, IRS Form 8609 processes, and ensure ongoing compliance with financing requirements.

• Organize financing calendars, project tracking tools, and necessary documentation.

• Create, sustain, and enhance Excel-based trackers, reports, and workflow management tools.

• Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for routine finance processes.

• Keep financial compliance checklists updated and ensure adherence to critical deadlines.

• Collaborate with internal teams, lenders, investors, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.

• Manage financial records, digital document repositories, and project data rooms effectively.

• Analyze financial and legal documents, translating information into actionable tasks, summaries, and database updates.

• Gather, organize, and evaluate financial and property performance data.

• Assist in budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, and the development of performance dashboards.

• Track key financial and operational milestones across multiple ongoing projects.

• Take initiative on assigned workflows, ensuring accurate outcomes independently rather than merely coordinating tasks.

• Recognize opportunities for enhancing finance processes, systems, and operational efficiencies across the organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is highly preferred.

• At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate Finance, or a comparable financial operations role.

• Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel, including functions like XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and the capability to navigate complex spreadsheets and large data sets confidently.

• Excellent task management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines, projects, files, and trackers while maintaining accuracy.

• Exceptional attention to detail, consistently producing high-quality work.

• Strong, proactive communication skills, with the confidence to ask questions, provide regular updates, and highlight potential issues early.

• Robust analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Proven ability to quickly learn new systems, concepts, and business processes.

• Experience in creating reports, trackers, and operational documentation.

• Capability to develop, document, and continuously enhance Standard Operating Procedures.

• Experience in interpreting financial and legal documents.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Familiarity with Yardi, QuickBooks, Smartsheet, or Monday.com is a plus.

• Experience utilizing AI productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Claude is desirable.

• Background in affordable housing, LIHTC, or real estate development is advantageous but not mandatory; comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate.
