This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Collaborate on-site with clients to pinpoint opportunities for operational enhancements and alleviate challenges.
• Carry out field service responsibilities, which include diagnosing technical problems and performing on-site troubleshooting within authorized areas.
• Implement installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, extensions, upgrades, retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements.
• Assist in the certification process for Associate Field Service Technicians and Field Service Technicians.
• Mentor technicians and oversee intricate site operations.
• Serve as trainers when required, for both team members and clients.
• Compile material lists for service tasks and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment adhere to quality standards and are readily available.
• Proactively detect potential equipment failures and suggest corrective measures.
• Enhance customer satisfaction by fostering and sustaining positive relationships.
• Spot potential new sales opportunities while addressing client needs and communicate these internally.
• Recognize opportunities for product and quality enhancements.
• Offer recommendations to management aimed at improving operations and customer service.
• Adhere to safety protocols and uphold safe work and environmental practices.
• Report unsafe practices and incidents.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 4+ years of experience in servicing critical power equipment OR an Associate’s Degree in electrical technology with 6+ years of experience in servicing critical power equipment OR a High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work and/or military experience (8+ years) servicing critical power equipment.
• Advanced skills in interacting and conveying (written and verbal) information across various levels within the organization.
• Strong collaborative skills.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office products at an advanced level.
• Moderate capability in Project Management using MS Project or Excel.
• Advanced proficiency in writing test plans and reports that detail test results.
• Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines for administrative tasks.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ownership, ensuring completion of tasks.
• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
