Senior Cloud Architect, Field Engineering – GenAI Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Execute impactful AI projects.

• Take the lead on hands-on delivery for GenAI implementation projects, funded initiatives, technical proof-of-value efforts, and other client-facing AI activities.

• Convert customer objectives into actionable architectures, implementation strategies, and measurable technical results.

• Develop, configure, and validate AWS-native AI and data solutions, focusing on production-ready systems and services.

• Oversee technical execution from initial discovery to final delivery, including design evaluations, workshops, implementation assistance, and executive-ready presentations.

• Navigate complex client scenarios that demand technical expertise, promptness, and credibility.

• Propel results across the four Field Engineering growth pillars.

• Facilitate product adoption by aiding customers in implementing and integrating DoiT offerings within AI projects and broader cloud strategies.

• Contribute to acquiring new logos by leveraging technical consulting, implementation efforts, and proof-of-value activities to identify and advance new opportunities.

• Broaden the installed base by assisting current clients in adopting advanced features, launching new workloads, and transitioning to higher-value products and services.

• Enhance partner leadership by collaborating with AWS partner teams, supporting funded initiatives, and positioning DoiT as a strategic technical ally in AI-related endeavors.

• Transform field experiences into repeatable methodologies.

• Identify patterns, reusable assets, and "gravel road" solutions that should evolve into standard delivery methods, playbooks, or product insights.

• Assist in transitioning successful one-time customer projects into repeatable solution packages, templates, and standardized offerings for the team at large.

• Contribute to the standardization of engagement sizing, delivery methodologies, and technical resources to boost team efficiency over time.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to secure and deliver projects.

• Work closely with Solution Engineers, Account Managers, Customer Success Managers, Engagement Managers, and partner teams to define and execute the appropriate tasks at the right time.

• Provide technical leadership during the discovery, planning, handoff, and delivery phases.

• Ensure customer engagements are well-defined, thoroughly documented, and aligned with clear success criteria.

• Maintain discipline in operations.

• Ensure clear visibility into active projects, risks, dependencies, and forthcoming steps.

• Utilize the team’s operational systems and workflows to keep customer engagement data up-to-date and measurable.

• Contribute to adoption playbooks, funding processes, Jira maintenance, and the management rhythm necessary to scale the Field Engineering model.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in customer-facing cloud architecture, technical consulting, solutions delivery, or field engineering.

• Practical experience with AWS in real-world customer settings.

• Familiarity with contemporary AI and GenAI architectures on AWS — especially Amazon Bedrock (Knowledge Bases, model evaluation, guardrails), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns using vector databases, and agentic AI design patterns. Knowledge of AWS CDK or similar infrastructure-as-code tools for deploying AI workloads is a plus.

• Ability to seamlessly transition between technical depth and client-facing communications.

• Experience in leading workshops, discovery sessions, implementation activities, or technical proof-of-value engagements.

• Strong judgment in uncertain situations; capable of simplifying, prioritizing, and driving work forward without excessive procedural overhead.

• Comfortable engaging with sales, delivery, customer success, product, and partner stakeholders.

• Exhibits a natural ownership mentality: escalate issues early, resolve them quickly, and take responsibility for the outcomes.
