This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Carry out service tasks according to work directives while adhering to ABB's quality and safety standards.
• Provide excellent customer service and execute service work in line with customer orders and expectations.
• Ensure customer loyalty by effectively communicating timelines and expectations related to service work.
• Recognize opportunities for operational enhancements and address pain points.
• Conduct field service activities, including troubleshooting technical issues on-site.
• Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements.
• Assist in the certification processes for Associate Field Service Technicians and Field Service Technicians.
• Guide technicians and oversee complex site operations.
• Create material lists for service tasks, ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment meet quality standards and are available.
• Proactively detect potential equipment failures and suggest corrective measures.
• Enhance customer satisfaction by fostering and maintaining positive relationships.
• Spot potential new sales opportunities while addressing customer needs and relay them internally.
• Identify areas for product and quality enhancements.
• Provide management with suggestions for improving operations and customer service.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain safe working and environmental practices.
• Report unsafe practices and incidents.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with over 4 years of experience in servicing critical power equipment, OR an Associate's Degree in electrical technology with over 6 years of experience in the same field, OR a High School Diploma/GED combined with equivalent work and/or military experience (8+ years) in servicing critical power equipment.
• Advanced capability to interact and communicate (both written and verbal) effectively at various organizational levels.
• Demonstrates strong collaboration skills.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office products at an advanced level.
• Moderate proficiency in Project Management using MS Project or Excel.
• Advanced skills in drafting test plans and reports that detail test outcomes.
• Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines for administrative tasks.
• Works with a strong sense of urgency and ownership until tasks are completed.
• Candidates must possess work authorization allowing them to work for ABB in the US.
