This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
• Deliver specialized field-based patient education and support throughout the Rett treatment journey.
• Act as a primary contact for Rett families’ clinical education inquiries regarding disease state and product knowledge.
• Provide education to patients, caregivers, and care team members through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and virtual communications.
• Assess the specific needs of patients and caregivers, offering suitable education and resources throughout the patient journey.
• Support the designated territory while collaborating with Marketing, Sales, Patient Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, and other internal teams.
• Share insights on disease state, product information, therapy management, and Acadia Customer Support Program with internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the creation of tools and resources to address educational gaps and strategies for therapy management.
• Facilitate, lead, and present caregiver speaker programs as necessary.
• Participate in community events within the assigned territory.
• Provide reactive in-service education to physician offices regarding the educator role and available patient-support resources.
• Recognize opportunities for leadership, training, mentorship, and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and Acadia values in all internal and external activities.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus on life sciences; RN, MSN, MBA is advantageous.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in healthcare or pharmaceuticals for the Senior Family Support Educator role, including at least 5 years in patient support or education.
• Clinical backgrounds in nursing, social work, patient advocacy, or experience in a specialty area may be regarded as equivalent to industry experience.
• A combination of relevant education and applicable work experience may be considered.
• Expertise in Rare Diseases, Product Launch, Advocacy, Medicaid, and Medicare is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the field environment in the healthcare industry.
• Proven history of successful collaboration across different functions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead without direct authority.
• Experience with provider offices, patient assistance programs, or similar pharmaceutical support initiatives is strongly preferred.
• Patient-centric approach with emotional intelligence and empathy.
• Strong empathetic listening skills.
• Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation capabilities.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage expenses within assigned budgets.
• Capacity to learn quickly, work autonomously and flexibly, and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Willingness to travel up to 70%, depending on the territory.
• Capability to fulfill additional local, state, and federal vaccination requirements for in-person field activities and events.
