This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Reporting to the Director of Evidence Strategy and Access for Europe within the Medical Affairs team.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Clinical Affairs, and the Global Access Value and Economics teams to establish strong frameworks for the evaluation and review of robotics-assisted technologies.
• Oversee market access, reimbursement, and funding initiatives for established therapies and rapidly advancing technologies across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (DACH).
• Define and strategically develop the most suitable access pathways—such as coverage mechanisms (e.g., DRGs, procedure codes, add-on payments), high-quality HTA submissions, and funding negotiations—to facilitate the timely adoption of MedTech and capital equipment in both hospital and outpatient environments.
• Establish and cultivate a robust network of relevant opinion leaders among providers, payers, and policymakers.
• Manage relationships with key national and local stakeholders, collaborating closely with Key Opinion Leaders and scientific societies to enhance engagement, advocacy, and alignment in discussions with national payer and reimbursement decision-makers.
• Lead the initiation and governance of consultancy engagements across a diverse portfolio of market access initiatives.
• Secure optimal reimbursement, ensuring our solutions are appropriately coded, covered, and funded throughout the region.
• Analyze funding pathways, assess policy and payment system changes, and convert them into actionable strategies that bolster clinical adoption and commercial success.
• Establish and nurture a network of relevant opinion leaders across a wide array of providers, payers, and policymakers.
• Develop and implement strategies for market access at both national and local levels.
• Lead, coordinate, or support HTA activities, which include preparing and submitting national or regional HTA dossiers, engaging with assessment bodies, and aligning clinical and economic evidence.
• Serve as the primary HTA expert for the robotics-assisted bronchoscopy business unit.
• Strategically utilize clinical data and real-world evidence (RWD) to inform and shape market access strategies, enhancing value narratives to support coverage, reimbursement, and funding goals across the region.
• Health Economics training and experience in the medical device sector is essential.
• Comprehensive understanding of the DACH healthcare markets, including governmental and policy requirements for medical devices, paired with an established network of key stakeholders (payers, policymakers, hospital decision-makers, and KOLs) to effectively guide and influence market access and funding strategies.
• Prior experience in Market Access / Reimbursement strategy, value demonstration, value dossier, and value communication is also critical.
• Fluency in both German and English is essential, as this role will be part of an international Market Access business unit.
• A degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field (PharmD preferred); a postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience in market access, health economics, or reimbursement, preferably in the MedTech sector, although pharmaceutical backgrounds will be considered.
• Strong understanding of the German healthcare and reimbursement system (experience with Austria and Switzerland is advantageous).
• Senior-level stakeholder engagement with key German market access stakeholders (e.g., payers, HTA bodies, policymakers, and provider decision-makers) is required.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
• Fluent communication abilities in both German and English, capable of presenting confidently and writing clearly for professional audiences.
• Requires frequent travel (approximately 50-60%) across the DACH region to interact with payers, hospital stakeholders, policymakers, and KOLs.
• Field reimbursement experience in a hospital setting is necessary.
