Senior Estimator – Mission Critical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee all estimating activities for the most intricate and large-scale projects within the Mission Critical sector, encompassing conceptual estimates, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies and comparisons, value engineering, subcontractor relations, and staying informed about industry advancements relevant to estimating.

• Guarantee that the estimating process operates seamlessly and effectively, while consistently surpassing client expectations throughout the project duration.

• Cultivate relationships to comprehend the needs and expectations of clients, designers, and subcontractors.

• Examine drawings, specifications, proposals, and additional documentation to formulate time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.

• Facilitate effective collaboration among team members.

• Communicate efficiently with all stakeholders.

• Engage in business development initiatives, presentations, and interviews.

• Conduct quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for materials and labor to determine project value.

• Grasp the complete scope of the project through document analysis and inquiries directed at the design team and owner.

• Prepare value engineering and risk assessments.

• Draft qualifications and assumptions for the estimate.

• Generate cost comparisons and reconcile them with prior estimates.

• Oversee the subcontractor solicitation and selection process.

• Create Exhibit B and/or scope sheets.

• Ensure the quality control of bids and estimates.

• Develop an in-house budget and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the estimating field.

• Over 10 years of experience in the construction industry.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Familiarity with specialized estimating software.

• Knowledge of how market conditions impact pricing.
